Carol Pulvermacher: Woodburning
I love animals, and wood.

I taught myself to woodburn as a teenager in 1975. For me, it was a natural fit. Drawing, then burning the incredible likeness' of the animals I loved on wood. Of course earning a living sometimes gets in the way, so it wasn't until the late 90's, that I unofficially started Lazy Dog Designs, creating Pet Portraits and Memorials. It was my love of animals that lead me to the larger world of creating wildlife pieces on many different kinds of wood. Inspiration is everywhere. In my backyard, watching a nature special on OPB, hiking, camping, and traveling. I really enjoy creating each piece. There are so many species, of animals and wood, that I am always finding new ways to express myself. I get alot of comments from viewers about my pieces. They connect with the animals. Selling is just a bonus. The animals, and often the piece of wood itself, speak volumes.
